Kelly Corner Farm was started by Julie Patterson and a Dream. After spending 20 years in a medical laboratory and reaching her goal of laboratory manager the lyrics of an old song, "Is that all there is", ran through her thoughts more and more frequently. After much soul searching and by remembering the things she had loved as a child she eventually realized that somewhere down the road she had adopted someone else's dream- not her own.

Colleagues and friends were convinced that she was either joking or had lost her sanity; however, with determination and passion she forged on. She sold her luxury condo and bought a 200 year-old-home on 25 acres of land which contained and old barn and old meeting house. Julie's companion, Tim Benjamin, joined her in this venture.

The Kelly Corner flock now contains 70 Romney ewes, 20 Coopworth ewes, 80 Angora Goats, and 30 rare breed Leicester Longwool sheep. The goal is to raise sheep and lambs as naturally as possible on pasture. Studies have shown that pasture raised lamb contains heart healthy fats. The fleece of our "girls" is sold in its natural state to handpsinners, processed into roving for handpinners and felters, and into additional wool products such as yarns, comforters and quilting batts.

Our poultry consists of 200 chickens who lay large fertile eggs to meet our customers' desire.

Last, but not least, are the canine members of our team. Our Great Pyrennes guard our livestock. Our Border Collies help with daily chores of moving the sheep to fresh pasture, as well as loading the sheep into the trailer when the fresh pasture available is a mile down the road. Our two Australian Shepherds have different working abilites but have found their place in the Kelly Corner Farm Team.
